NCAHP Introduces NEET UG Requirement for Allied & Healthcare Courses from 2026-27

The National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP), under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, has announced a major update regarding the admission process and curriculum framework for Allied and Healthcare education across the country.
13 New Curricula Finalized by NCAHP
According to the latest notification, NCAHP has finalized 13 curricula for various graduate and postgraduate Allied & Healthcare programs. These curricula have been officially notified and are now ready for implementation by universities and institutions after completing necessary administrative and affiliation procedures.
The Commission also confirmed that more curriculum details will soon be available on the official NCAHP portal.
NEET UG Now Mandatory for Admissions
A key highlight of the notification is the mandatory requirement of NEET UG for admission into all Allied and Healthcare undergraduate courses starting from the academic year 2026–27.
This decision aims to bring national-level standardization in the admission process, aligning it with other major medical and paramedical disciplines.
Universities Advised to Use Only Approved Curricula
NCAHP has directed all universities to:

Avoid using outdated or unapproved Allied & Healthcare curricula

Implement only the newly notified NCAHP curricula

Begin course admissions strictly based on NEET UG scores from 2026-27
These steps are aimed at improving the quality of education and ensuring uniformity across the sector.
Instructions to State Boards & Education Departments
The Commission has requested Central and State Boards, along with Higher and School Education departments, to:
