Established in 1984, Kumaraguru
College of Technology (KCT), Coimbatore is a private self-financing Engineering
college and an autonomous institution. Approved by AICTE and affiliated with
Anna University, Chennai. The institute is accredited by the NAAC with an ‘A’
Grade and all the eligible UG programmes have also been accredited by the
National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
The institute has been ranked among
the top 100 colleges by NIRF for 5 consecutive years (2016-2020. It has been
ranked 6 for Private Engineering by ARIIA - Private and 82 for Engineering by
NIRF in 2020.

The college offers 15 undergraduate
(BE and BTech) and 15 postgraduate (ME, MTech, MCA and MBA) programmes across
Engineering, Management and Business Administration, and IT and Software
streams. It also offers postdoctoral programmes. There are a total of 18
academic departments in the institute, out of which 12 academic departments
have bagged NBA Accreditation.
The college has granted over 1,300
annual scholarship awards. A sum of Rs 1 crore and above is presented every
year to the deserving students under The Mahatma Gandhi Merit Scholarship since
2006. The institute has a total of 71 filed patents.
The institute has 14 international
partnerships with universities like Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak
Campus Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (Kuala Lumpur,
Malaysia), Northern Illinois University (USA), etc.

Partnerships/ Collaborations with Universities The key objective of the KCT
International Partnerships (KCT IP) is to represent KCT in the global space. It
works to develop connections between overseas universities and KCT through
diverse collaborations.
The current initiatives of the KCT IP include
student and faculty exchange programmes joint projects & research and joint
degree programmes.
KCT Coimbatore Courses & Fees 2021
KCT Coimbatore offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and postdoctoral
programmes in numerous specialisations.
The duration of BE/ BTech programme is
four years. On the other hand, MBA and ME/ MTech are offered for two years. MCA
and PhD is for three years.
KCT Coimbatore Placements A total of
287 companies visited for recruitment of students during the KCT Coimbatore
placements drive 2019-20. Out of these, 38% placements were in core companies,
29% placements in management companies, 28% placements in product development
firms and 5% placements in IT service companies. KCT Coimbatore has a future
centre that provides career guidance and organises various programmes that are
directed towards creating opportunities for students to become acquainted with
occupational and educational opportunities, programmes on soft skills
development are designed to help them develop a cutting-edge personality.
